I’m so very very excited to tell you all that I’m getting a brother! I’m adopting my fur-sister April’s brother!
His pedigree name is Zeabo Xtra Special because he has one blue eye and he was born with not so straight legs. His actual name is Blue!
Blue had to have an operation just before he was four months old because his radius and ulna in his front legs weren’t growing properly. The operation was to help him grow without pain even though he’ll probably always have cute wonky legs.
He’s a very brave woofer and I think he’ll make a purrfect ally for me, helpfully tipping the balance of the crew back to a male majority!
Blue needs a loving home and mum begged me to have him. I wasn’t sure to begin with and we all considered it at length because it’s a big decision. Now, however, I’m over the moon and very impatient to get him home with us so I can start his training. I’m sure he’s going to help me keep my wild-spirited sis-fur in check too! He seems much more chilled out than she is!
April, the lobsters, the humans and I can’t wait to welcome Blue home at the end of the month. We even have a matching dog tag ready for him! He’s officially a crew member now!
Some of you might wonder why I would want another woofer in my crew instead of a cat. There are a few reasons really. Firstly because the moment I realised I could give Blue a good life I knew I had to. Secondly, let’s be honest, woofers are much easier to train… I like being the only boat cat onboard. There’s no confusion who’s boss! Thirdly, because if I’m 100% truthful, although I try not to admit it, especially to her, I adore April and if Blue is anything like she is, (which I’m sure he will be) we’re in for a lot of fun in the future! I wasn’t really looking to expand our crew so quickly but sometimes in life some things are just meant to be and I’m so happy that Blue has also chosen us.
We will probably give Blue a middle name. My name is Bailey Blue, and April is April Blue. Blue will want a middle name too, but I’m not sure what it will be yet. Dad wants to call him Patrick but none of the rest of us like that idea much. He calls us all strange names anyway, we don’t mind. I think I’ll decide Blue’s middle name with him when he comes home and he can say if he likes it then. It’s all very exciting!
