Furiends I have a wonderful guest and a very dear furiend of mine today for Caturday Connections, the pawesome Cody is here! Thank you for coming Buddy!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Let’s see “it was a dark and stormy night…” oh wait!! That’s about some cartoon woofie, not ME! Hmmm, let’s see…something about ME. “My name is Cody and I am addicted to food”…wait!! Not that either? Ok, here we go…I am a 9 year old American Shorthair Silver Tabby. I have been a blogging since I was two years old. I live in Michigan, in the United States. I am also quite handsome (if I do say so myself).
How do you spend an average day of your life?
Well, Bailey, I am not a famous boating cat like you, ALL of my days are pretty “average.” My favorite activity is waking my Dad up in the pre-dawn hours. No 6am for me. I prefer jumping on Dad’s face about 3am, then I begin my annoying whining at approximately 3:30am. Once the whining commences, that sets off “Sheltie Boy”, aka, my woofie brother, “Dakota.” Mom sleeps like dead weight so Dad gets up at that ridiculous hour to feed us. Then, it’s off to the couch to watch some Bird TV. At about 11:30am I start whining again in anticipation of my noon repast. Then, it’s off to find another sleeping spot. At about 3:30pm I come into the living room to tease my woofie brother. That’s always good for some laughs. Then, I have dinner at 5pm. After dinner I get on the kitchen table that I am not allowed on to beg for some of what Mom is eating. She can’t resist when I raise my paw. After dinner, Mom and I sometimes will play for a while. Then, when Mom is done helping me blog I watch TV with her and “hold hands.” My final “snack” is at 11pm, I need a snack to watch my pal, Jimmy Fallon.
What’s your favourite hobby?
I think we pretty much covered that above…EATING!!!! MOL!
Tell us about who you live with? Do you like them?
I live with my Mom, Dad and my Sheltie brother, Dakota. “Mama didn’t raise no fool.” OF COURSE I have to say I like Mom and Dad, if I want to EAT!! MOL! Seriously, yes, I love my Mom and Dad and (because he isn’t around right now), I DO love my Sheltie brother.
I’m especially interested in your relationship with Dakota. What’s it like living with a grown up dog? Do you think April will ever stop trying to steal my food?
“Grown up dog?” I am sorry but I have to laugh at that! Dakota is nine years old also (same age as me!), but he behaves like a circus bear most of the time. He also constantly wears this silly grin on his face. If I didn’t know better, I would think he was a puppy!!! I am not sure about April and your food because Mom keeps my food in the kitchen, (Dakota isn’t permitted in there, Mom has a baby gate by the doorway and one in the hallway). Dakota isn’t allowed in the back part of our condo because of my toys, food and cat litter. Mom was afraid he would eat my toys, food or litter and get sick.
Do you have any tips on how to train April?
Oh yes!!!!! Never, ever attempt to scratch her. That’s one thing I have never done to Dakota. I am a peaceful kinda guy. When Dakota first joined our family, (I was here first like you were with April), I just walked around his crate and looked at him. I smelled him. I DID hiss at him…ONCE. I have never hissed at him since. No need to. Dakota learned after that one hiss who was boss…..ME!!! Sometimes I will roll over and show him my belly which is a sign of trust and appears to be submissive. (The operative word being “appears”). When Dakota approaches, I jump up and scare the woofie daylights out of him! It’s so much fun! Try it Bailey, you will have April eating out of your paw in no time!
Where’s your favourite place to relax?
On the back of the couch. I like watching the birdies out the window.
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done? (Don’t be shy it’s good to get it out in the open.)
Well, I still do it. When I am upset that Mom isn’t feeding me fast enough, I try to chew anything and everything in sight. It upsets my Mom. I will chew books, plastic, paper, ANYTHING! Last time I did it whatever I chewed on didn’t agree with my tummy. I have slowed down my chewing a bit ever since.
What do you think your next big adventure in life will be?
I’m pretty boring, I really don’t know!
What’s the best thing that you’ve ever been asked to review?
Oh that is easy!! My Cat Tree from Pet Tree Houses. It is amazing!!
If somebody asked you for advice and you only had a few minutes to give them your best tip, what would it be?
For that one, I am going to share a quote that is on my blog that is my favorite. Sure, it’s a quote, but I think it is a tip just the same. It goes like this “Always speak of the past, gratefully, of the future, excitedly, and of the present with bobbing eyebrows and a Cheshire grin.”—-The Universe
Do you have a website or social media channel where we can follow your future adventures?
Sure I do and thank you for asking. Before I give those to you, I would like to thank you for taking the time to interview me today Bailey. I know you have many kitty friends who lead much more exciting lives than I do, but Mom, Dakota and I think the World of you, April and your Mom and Dad and Mom and I loved reviewing your book! If anyone would like to visit me they can find my blog at: http://www.catchatwithcarenandcody.com thanks so much again! Love, Cody
