Beating the heat

It’s absolutely boiling here today furiends. It feels so much hotter here in the yard than it does when we’re in the marina. Maybe it’s because we’re higher up and the heat rises. I’ve been working hard to beat the heat.

I got the humans to give me a wet paper towel shower…

Water cooling

Even though I look ridiculous, I actually really like these cool moments. The trouble is, in the heat, the cool water drys quite quickly. So I just stay in the shade.

In the shade

The heat means I’ve been taking a lot more naps than usual. My cousins are coming on Monday so I instructed the humans to clear some space for them to put their things. In the meantime it makes a purrfect napping spot for me!

My dear furiends John and Bobbie, set sail for Croatia yesterday on Quickbeam and I’d like to wish them fair winds and fishy feasts! I hope we can meet up with them over the summer, but if not I’ll be looking forward to seeing them again in Rome at the end of the season.

Bisous, Bailey

We are keeping you in our thoughts and purring and praying that your paw is healing quickly. Hope your heat breaks soon. 3. Follow the shade! My parents used to throw a damp rag over the cats when our spoiled kitties got hot while traveling in the car. The cats didn’t mind it a bit 🙂

I know. Don’t you just HATE the heat…! Soon you will be on the open sea… In the meantime, sadly, you just have to tough it out. But wait a minute, I don’t see a fan in the picture…! Where is it? Or like Terri says, a damp towel…..

  7. Stay cool and rest your paw. Also follow your doctor’s orders – it’s the one thing that will keep you out of a cone. And, no jumping off the boat into the yard.

    Hi Bailey,

I’m so sorry that you are struggling with the heat, I bet that it is really hot in the boat yard, I think that it must be hot in most places this summer. I live in Phoenix Arizona and it has been very hot here too. 115 degrees here, but it has been as high as 122 on other years at this time. Very very hot!!! We don’t want to leave our air conditioned spaces. We have very nice winters so we just call this our “payback time.” Your mum is so thoughtful to give you wet towel baths. stay in the shade as much as possible. and be cool. I hope that you are feeling better after your very eventful trip to the vet. You are a very brave boy.

    Love you Bailey,

You are such an accomplished Captain Bailey, and considerate host to know just how to instruct the humans to make Nocturne welcome for them. I bet you are adorable after a wet paper towel shower! I would love to help Clove and Kaspars beat the heat by doing the same, but knowing them so well I’m afraid I would be ordering my own ‘attack & shred’ of the claws, even possible death! MOL! Try and keep cool in the heat as much as you are one cool dude. 💙
