Happy World Water Day!

Today is World Water Day! It aims to raise awareness of the importance of water cooperation internationally.

Water is a shared resource and vitally important for all of us to survive. The UNESCO World Water Day strives to promote the awareness that effective management of rivers and waterways that cross countries and political boundaries is essential to ensure everyone can live sustainably in a world where our population is still increasing.

The slogan this year is: “Water, Water Everywhere, Only if We Share,” and it was selected from 12,151 proposals sent by 5,654 people from 180 countries. I think that’s pretty pawesome!

I know I’m very lucky to be surrounded by water! Obviously we take water consumption and holding very seriously on the boat. It’s more precious than gold to sailors!

I believe that everyone deserves access to clean water so the World Water Day raising awareness on all the issues is amazing. You can find lots more information about World Water Day at: http://www.unwater.org/water-cooperation-2013/home/en/

Have a great weekend!

Bisous Bailey

  3. Our water supply here in Northland is critical at the moment. No watering, no washing cars, and short showers. Water conservation is pretty important
