Dear furiends, it’s with great purrleasure that today you can properly get to know my brofur Blue. He’s been living with us for a little over a week now and he’s settling in really well.
Welcome Blue! Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Thank you brofur, well I’m April’s litter-mate and we were born on the 1st of April 2016, so we recently turned seven months old. My pedigree name is Zeabo Xtra Special, but my name has mostly always been Blue because I have one blue eye. When I came home last week mum said we could all choose a middle name because you are Bailey Blue and April is April Blue. I’m a huge fan of cuddles and mum says I’m like a fluffy bear, so we decided my middle name would be Bear. I like the sound of Blue Bear when mum calls it.
Were you sad to leave your canine family?
Yes I was very emotional when it came to leave. I was excited but also quite nervous because I lived with them for the first six months of my life and it was all I really knew. I was especially sad to say goodbye to my fur-mum’s human, Shirley. She is very special and looked after me with extra love. She made sure I had everything I needed, food, shelter, love and even my operation.
Tell us a little bit about your operation.
Well I have bow legs and when I was three and a half months old Shirley and the vet decided it was in my best interests to have an operation so my condition wouldn’t get worse. The vet took a section of my bone away on both my legs because as puppies our bones aren’t fused yet and my bones would fuse back together. I’ll always have wonky legs but hopefully as I grow it won’t be as noticeable as it would have been and I won’t be in pain. Mum says it makes me perfectly unique.
Do you have any special needs because of your legs?
No not really. Just some understanding that I’m a bit slower and still gaining my strength. I tire quite quickly but I’ve figured out ways to get around it and still be involved. I like to lie down and make April run around me like a looney tune! I can’t jump around like she can, but to be honest I don’t think anyone can! I also take a calcium supplement and vitamins to help my bones grow strong.
Yes! Our sisfur is quite a live wire isn’t she? I love to play but I get tired a lot faster than April does. She would keep running around all day if she could, but I like some quiet time too. I love a good nap just like you do! I do indulge her with play fights though- they’re great fun!
I quite often have to discipline April but you’re an angel in comparison. Were you previously trained by a cat?
No. I’d never lived with a cat before you, but I met a few near where I lived. I respect the job you’re doing with April, she’s very intelligent but she still tries to be the boss. I understand that you’re the boss!
Thank you Blue. Are you looking forward to getting your sea legs next year?
Oh yes! I can’t wait. I think I’ll really enjoy it. Mum said the boat and the car is the only place where April really chills out, which would be great for me because she’ll leave me in peace! Plus I’ve seen some of the photos and I can’t wait to see everything with my own eyes! Until then I’m happy chilling out at home and getting new experiences little by little.
Blue, I have to be honest, when April came home I hoped that would be it and we wouldn’t be adding anymore crew members… but I’m so glad we have you now! You make our family complete!
Thank you Bailey, I’m so happy to have a brofur to help me keep April under control! I can’t wait for our future adventures together!
Thank You Blue!
Happy Caturday Evfurryone!
