Welcome to this weeks edition of Caturday Connections furiends! This week I have the purrleasure of welcoming the lovely Odin!
Tell us a little bit about yourself Odin.
Well, I’m a 9 year old Swiss feline and live with my human mum and dad – Diana and Patrik – in a lovely little village in the canton of Thurgau.
I am mix between a Sacred Birma (my furry mum) and Norwegian Forrest (my furry dad).
I also had a brother – his name was Thor – but sadly he died last summer in a tragic car accident….sorry, just got something into my eye….
When I think about it, since then my humans are talking about boats, learning to sail, new adventures and how to make a crazy dream come true. I reckon, they are just being silly….I mean, who wants to move from a big house with a garden filled with mice, grasshoppers and butterflies to play with, to a boat which – naturally – floats on water?! Yeah well, apparently my humans do……….
How do you spend an average day of your life?
Usually I get up early with my human mum and receive my morning massage – it took me some time to teach her the way I like it, but meanwhile she does it fairly good, *purrrrr*.
I also love exploring! I love sneaking around and discovering our neighbors garden and the fields surrounding our house. That means I come home a bit dirty sometimes and mum and dad have to clean my fur from all kind of plants and leaves which I collect during my hikes.
Well, you have to keep your humans entertained somehow, right?!
What’s your favourite hobby?
Hmmm….Let me think…..there are a few actually! Hunting is surely one of my favorites, but it doesn’t make my humans very happy (my mum always feels sorry about my prey, which I usually take home and proudly present to them). So except of hunting I love to sleep outside, preferably under a shady bush and listen to the life (and potential prey) around me. Ah yes, eating goodies is fun too…*munch*
Tell us about who you live with? Do you like them?
That’s easy to answer: Yes, I absolutely love my humans – the would do everything possible for me.
Patrik is a Swede an Diana is Swiss, and eight years ago they adopted Thor and me, when we were one and a half years old, and gave us a cozy new home! I wouldn’t want to trade them for anything.
Where’s your favourite place to relax?
During the night I love to sleep in my waterbed….Annoyingly, I have to share it with my mum and dad. I also have my cat tree in the bedroom (luckily I don’t have to share that), which is placed beside the window, so I can look out and see what happens while everyone else is sleeping!
And – as I mentioned – chilling under a bush is a perfect thing to do, as well!
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done? (Don’t be shy it’s good to get it out in the open.)
I can’t believe I go public with that….but embarrassingly I let my humans teach me to “sit” and “give paw”. But they have to ask nicely, though!
Where’s the best place you’ve ever visited in the boat?
Well, since we (luckily) don’t own a boat (yet), I can’t answer you that. But IF we had one, I could imagine I would like it best on a soft pillow outside in the shadow, feeling a soft breeze in my fur, dreaming about hunting….
Have you ever been for a swim? Did you like it?
Hahaha……now that you mention it….not long ago, I nearly fell into the fountain in our garden, while drinking some water. Fortunately, no one saw it…..imagine, if….. *gulp* ! So no, I don’t think I would like to go for a swim….
What do you think your next big adventure in life will be?
If my mum and dad keep planning our future on a boat, I’m afraid I’ll have to adjust my life to theirs. But who knows, maybe I will surprise myself and even like it on a wobbly sailing boat.
As long as they let me choose it, everything will be fine!
If somebody asked you for advice and you only had a few minutes to give them your best tip, what would it be?
Live and love your life and be thankful for what you have – don’t take your luck for granted!
I am aware that a lot of felines – and other animals – don’t have such a good life as I have…
Do you have a website or social media channel where we can follow your future adventures?
Yes, we do actually. It’s called http://www.freja-thecat.com.
My humans are still practicing, but since I have plenty of time and I’m such a patient feline, I teach them continuously, how to improve!
Thank you so much for coming Odin. It’s been so much fun learning all about you and your life. I have my paws crossed that you will love life afloat. I’m so intrigued by your water bed! I think I’d like to try one! I wish you and your humans the very best for the future!
Happy Caturday Evfurryone!
