Welcome furiends to this week’s Caturday Connections! This week I have the purrleasure of welcoming the pawesome Purrseidon aboard! Welcome Purrseidon!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I will be 2 on October 2nd. Mahatma Gandhi, Sting and Kelly Ripa were also born on that day. Apparently us Libras are charming, smart and beautiful, plus we have a ‘style all our own’, which might explain why I love water and water sports, even though I’m a cat.
Your human told me you like water and now you say that you love water is it really true?
Yes, I love it! This has caused some problems. For instance, when the staff claim it’s too wet to go out (IMO, there is no such thing as weather being too wet!), they’ve gotten irate when I hop into the kitchen sink and turn on the water.
How do you spend an average day of your life?
I spend a lot of time supervising Master Munchkin, who is my purrsonal human. He is being home-schooled, so I spend a lot of time tutoring him in reading and math. I purticularly enjoy the time we spend reading about sharks and other ocean stuff.
I also supervise the staff and guide them in the propurr way to maintain my house and grounds. It’s a big job and you’d think my elder brofur, Mr. M. would help, but he purrfers to spend most of his time napping in boxes.
Aside from my responsibilities maintaining my purrsonal property, I am a blend tester for Cat-a-bliss and each month, I review a product for Chewy.com.
What’s your favourite hobby?
Swimming. I can’t always get my staff to make the three mile trip to the Atlantic, so I keep a purrsonal pool in the back yard.
I like them most of the time, but they can be spoil-sports. For instance, they don’t want to go to the beach every day and some days when we do go, they claim the water is dangerous because of shark migrations or rip currents.
What water activities do you participate in?
I mainly like to swim and ride my boogie board, but my boogie board is only good when we’re at the ocean. When I’m stuck home, with only my purrsonal back yard pool or the tub, my favorite things to play with are a water-activated fishy and my friend Froggy…. Er, the staff gets upset when I let Ms. Froggy in… they say treefrogs don’t belong inside. I don’t understand why they’re prejudiced against reptiles.
Where’s your favourite place to relax?
Well, for a long time, it was the window sill, but one lovely spring morning, when the windows were open, I fell asleep there and next thing I knew, a YOOOOWL! woke me. I was so startled that I fell off the sill. That fall saved me from a huge, vicious white cat’s claws, as it tore the screen. I don’t know why that cat did that, but I never got on that window sill, again.
After that, I started to nap on the top of my ladder … er, my staff is under the mistaken impression my ladder belongs to them. Silly humans! Don’t they realize I own them and all their supposed possessions?
I can see that your human has written lots of books, do you feature in any of them?
Well, my elder brofur, Mr. M, will tell you that HE is a writer’s muse and he inspires our biographer, but if he thinks he’s the only one, he’s wrong. I arrived in the household about the same time the rough-draft for Purr-a-noia was being written. There is no coincidence that Mischief and I looked alike or that we were both about a month old. I really started to sink my fictional self into the series during The Vi-Purrs and I assure you that I am keeping a firm hold, as Me-YEOW!’s rough draft is being written.
What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done? (Don’t be shy it’s good to get it out in the open.)
Well, my brofur and my staff will tell you it was bad, but I didn’t think this was bad. Mr. M is a niphead and didn’t want to play, so I hid his silvervine stick in the toy box… he never looked there, so he couldn’t find it for over a day…. he get really, really angry. Worse, he’s still angry about it. If that isn’t enough, I’m pretty sure he and our canine sisfur, Saphera, are conspiring against me.
What do you think your next big adventure in life will be?
I’d love to go white water rafting or maybe water skiing, but the staff deflecting my reasons why this would be fun.
If somebody asked you for advice and you only had a few minutes to give them your best tip, what would it be?
I think this guy might be one of Saphera’s kin (he’s called Old Blue Eyes). Frank Sinatra said, “The big lesson in life, baby, is never be scared of anyone or anything.” (I don’t think he ever met the squirrels at my park… even Saphera is smart enough to be afraid of them.)
Do you have a website or social media channel where we can follow your future adventures?
Yes here: http://www.purrseidon.wordpress.com
