Thank you all for your kind words, advice and encouragement for my new life with a baby sister. April is a little bit shy still, but I’ve told her that I have lots of furiends and they are all her furiends too now, so she has nothing to be afraid of.
So tell everyone a little bit about yourself baby sister!
My name is April Blue and I’m a blue merle Border Collie. I’m eight weeks old, I was born on the 1st of April. My dad is a black and white champion called Wizz and my mum is a blue merle named Diamond. In my litter I had two sisters and five brothers.
Were you sad to leave your canine family?
I was sad of course, but also really excited to start my new life with you, the lobsters and the humans. Our human mum and I cried for a couple of minutes on the way home because we were both a bit overwhelmed. I know that I’m going back to visit my fur-mum next month so that’s nice. I also really miss Shirley who is my fur-mum’s human, she looked after us all so well and she loved us all.
How was your first time in the car?
It was a little bit scary at first around the country lanes where there were lots of corners, but once we got onto the motorway I went to sleep in the footwell by mum’s feet.
What other new experiences have you had in the last few days?
So so many. It’s fun and also a little bit scary. Yesterday I heard the next door neighbour’s monster, mum said it’s a lawnmower and nothing to be afraid of. I also saw a motorbike for the first time when some human furiends came to visit. Today I went in the car for the second time to the airport to pick dad up from work. The airplanes are noisy but they didn’t scare me at all. It was actually really cool because lots of humans said I was pretty. My collar is new too, I’m not sure I like how it feels, but it is a pretty pink colour so I’ll get to like it eventually.
I’ve been raised on my fur-mum’s milk and chicken and beef with rice and puppy biscuits. I think the minced beef is my favourite food so far but I’m missing the milk a bit. My fur-mum was pawesome, she even let me have a last feed on the day I left. Apparently most fur-mum’s stop feeding their pups at six weeks because it hurts when we get sharp teeth, but my fur-mum is the best!
I’ve noticed that you like to play. What’s your favourite game?
I LOVE to play. I was so excited when I got home and saw all of my new toys. I love the balls and my Kong rope teddy and my squeaky elephant and … well actually I’m very lucky and I love all of my toys. I really love following you around and it’s so kind of you to lead me with that thingy attached to you. I hope we can invent some new games together. They will be my favourite games.
We are a sailing family, are you excited about going sailing soon?
I’m very excited about getting to Nocturne and sniffing around. Mum said all our friends in the marina are desperate to meet me and that they will all be very nice to me, so that will be exciting too. I haven’t been sick in the car, so I hope I won’t get sick on the boat. I’ve seen all of your pictures and it looks pawesome. I’m very excited. I can’t wait to go swimming for the first time either!
What are your dreams for the future?
I just really hope that you and I will become the best of furiends. I’m so happy to have a big brother in my new family. I’m learning from you all the time and I’m very grateful that you’re being so patient with me. Thank you bro!
Don’t worry I love you, I just can’t show the humans how much yet because I don’t want them to bring anyone else home. You and I are going to be purrfect partners in crime together.
Happy Caturday Evfurryone!
