Caturday Connections – Boat Lobsters – Thermidora and Bisque!

Hi furiends! Yesterday was an impawtant day for my lobsters so today I’m welcoming them to Caturday Connections!

Separate lobsters

So girls, yesterday was your first time actually sailing, how did you find it?

Thermi: We sailed yesterday?
Bisque: I heard the engine and felt a little bit of movement but we barely moved compared to the storms we had over the winter.
Thermi: So where are we now?

We’re in the boat yard Thermi. That’s why the boat feels strange, we’re not floating now. At least neither of you suffer from seasickness!

So you used to live together but now you live separately…why’s that?

Bisque: Because Thermidora was always in my way and even if she wasn’t her face annoyed me so I’d bite her.
Thermi: I pleaded with Bisque to stop biting me but when she drew blood I told mum I couldn’t live with her anymore. I even have a small hole in my ear from her meanness.
Bisque: She’s such a drama queen, her constant squealing was so pathetic.
Thermi: I don’t miss her fangs.
Bisque: You’re afraid of everything, I’m not afraid of anything…not even you Bailey!

Lobster piggyback

I affectionately named you after lobster dishes because when I first saw you you looked so tasty. What’s your favourite food?

Thermi: I love little chunks of carrot.
Bisque: Zucchini is my favourite nibble.

How do you spend an average day on the boat?

Bisque: I run a marathon everyday in my silent wheel before chewing on a toilet roll. The human likes to mess up my bedding so I have to rearrange that too. Then in the evenings I enjoy exploring the boat in the ball before taking a nice sand bath.
Thermi: I love to sleep. I have a beautiful nest where I store a good supply of seeds. If I need a snack I can help myself from the comfort of my snuggle spot. I also love spending time on mum’s shoulder, she lets me make a nest in her hair and I curl up there.

Your palace has been packed ready for our move. Are you looking forward to getting it back and living on land?

Bisque: Yes. I think it’s totally unfair that I’m in the smaller home just for the human’s convenience. I demand my palace to be the first thing to be unpacked and constructed when we arrive in the new house.
Thermi: I miss the tube tunnels from my palace because I liked to sleep in there, but I don’t mind my compact apartment. I have everything I need here and I know it’s only temporary. I’m just glad our mum has refused to put us in the moving truck like dad wanted us to go in. I’m happy to be traveling with you in the car. I don’t think he likes us very much.

Lobsters ready to travel

He didn’t like me much either to begin with, he said a boat was no place for a cat but he came around. Now he adores me, he gets upset if I don’t sleep on him. I have him wrapped around my dew claw. Give him time and hopefully he’ll fall in love with you too.

Thermi: It’s been five months now, so I’m not sure. Mum says he doesn’t like how much space we take up. I hope he’ll love us too one day.
Bisque: Who cares! It’s the female one that feeds us!

Bisque Sunflower

What are your dreams for the future?

Bisque: I’d like a palace bigger than the humans palace and an endless maze of tunnels to run around in.
Thermi: I’d like to make furiends with new little humans when mum starts teaching English again in the new house. I’m going to miss the little humans from Rome.

Thermi travel home

Well thank you lobsters. It’s been nice to chat, but I really must get back to supervising the humans now. There’s a lot to do before we leave!

Happy Caturday Evfurryone!

Bisous, Bailey

  2. mitzithedog says:

Maybe you two could take turns getting to run loose in a room in the Apartment when you live on land. I guess your human didn’t know that 2 of the same sex will fight. The only way to stop it is to have them fixed. Once the hormones leave they should be civil to each other
