Nocturne’s sinking… really slowly!

Don’t panic furiends, I just wanted to get your heart rate up today! Nocturne is technically letting water in and so very technically she might sink if we didn’t do anything about it! We’re not going to let it get anywhere near a concern though, so don’t worry.

What on earth is happening? I hear you crying.

The shaft seal is leaking. It’s as complicated and as simple as that. It needs replacing, so of course we’re going to make it our priority when Nocturne is lifted out of the water next week. In the mean time our automatic bilge pump is doing it’s job and pumping out the small amount of water that’s coming into the bilge.

I can’t wait for the excitement of the boat yard again. I love seeing Noccy in all her glory on the hard. I’m glad that there’s something else to keep the humans busy too, I don’t want them getting lazy.

SV Nocturne

I hope you all have a pawesome week!

Bisous, Bailey

  2. She looks great in dry dock too! Growing up on a big lake, I remember our boat was leaking due to the packing around the prop shaft where it entered the hull. Pop it out of the water and repack! Glad you found this out Bailey. 👍🏻

  3. Well we’re happy to hear what’s wrong with Noccy is “fixable” – she can “rest up” while back on land again and get the all clear to go back in the water and be safe and sound again. GET WELL SOON NOCCY! 😉
