Land Life = Complicated!

I’d forgotten how complicated living on land is. I’ve had quite a week dealing with connecting utilities such as gas and water, okay I admit it, I delegated most of it to the humans. These are all the things that we take care of ourselves living afloat but now we’re relying on big companies and it’s both expensive and frustratingly complicated. I think this is largely due to the fact that we’re in Italy because none of us have ever encountered anything quite like this before.

I know many of you that have never lived on a boat might think that life afloat must be complicated, but the reality is if you choose it to be, it can be very simple. The humans and I are having quite a big bump back to the reality of landlubbing this week. Paws crossed nearly everything is sorted now and we’ll be moving in time for dad’s work commitments at the start of next month.

We’ve also been busy making sure Nocturne is happy and giving her some TLC. She’ll be safely on land having a little drying out ‘spa break’ by the time we move. This means after the humans and I have done a few projects, she’ll be raring to go again for our cruising this summer.

Leap of faith!

I’m looking forward to exploring the boat yard again!

Bisous, Bailey

  7. That all must be really complicated, Bailey – when I moved in here, the utilities were already set up, so I didn’t have to concern myself with them.

  8. mitzithedog says:

Utility companies are worried about humans not paying their bills so they want them to have utilities in their name to show proof they have paid their bills. When you live on a boat you don’t have that proof so you have to show them other means of proof. That is because a few bad humans have ruined it for all the responsible ones too. It works that way in the US anyway.

I'd love to hear what you think....
