Dad’s in the doghouse!

Usually I only entrust my mum to deal with my litter box. It’s not a complicated job but she does it well and we both know what to expect. Today, however, as mum was about to refill the box with fresh litter dad decided to butt in ‘help’ and try and get the calcium off the bottom…

Mum and me both told him to leave it alone but he wouldn’t be told and guess what? He cracked my litter box!

As you know he loves epoxy and now I have to too. He fixed the crack with a layer of epoxy and he says my box will now be stronger than ever. Humans! Who’d have them?

Cat litter box epoxy fix

What are you doing to my litter box?

Dad’s in the doghouse for a while!

I hope you all have a purrfect weekend!

  5. Hmmm, Epoxy in the litter box…. I think you’ll be needing a new litter box soon, Bailey. We just got all new litter boxes, We needed one so dad decide to try something new, It’s called Omega Paws, and you clean it by rolling it one way and then the other then back, all of the bad stuff goes into a little box and you dump it. It worked so well that dad bought them to replace all seven boxes. Now when he sees one of us go in the box, he waits for us to come out and then rolls it and dumps the waste.
It is so nice to have a fresh box every time you go in.

  6. Dads often don’t do things the way we kitties like. Mom usually follows behind and fixes when he’s not looking. Maybe you can get a brand new litter box when you move. Sending lots of love, dear brofur. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  7. Bailey, you and dad are a hoot! You are very lucky that he not only knows how to use epoxy, but he always has a good supply on hand!! P.S. for future, a little cooking oil can loosen the calcium deposits. Pat

Hope this doesn’t keep you from wanting to use your box. I know kittens can be finicky about the condition of their litter boxes. If your sensitive nose still notices the epoxy fumes just hold your breath when you use it.,

  11. We’re glad he was able to fix it, Bailey. Our mom cracked ours and she just used some duck tape to fix it.
