Caturday Connections – Mitzi Jo

Today we welcome the beautiful Mitzi Jo for Caturday Connections.

Mitzi Jo

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I feel honored to be chosen to be the next fan interviewed. I am a Jack Russell /Pug mix so the humans call me a “JUG”. My human usually has “rescue” dogs in our family but when she saw me in a pet store it was love at first sight. I spent my first 3 years in California before we moved back to Momma Jean’s home state of Pennsylvania.

2. How do you spend an average day of your life?

My human was a Hollywood animal trainer and I did a few small parts before moving to our current state where I still get work. Here I help run our doggy daycare for smaller size dogs. I make sure they understand the rules of getting along and sharing toys. I go to the barn area in the morning and after all the dogs arrive I motion my human to let me in the house so I can take a nap.( I am twelve years old now.) After daycare is done I sometime go to the barn for my dinner and sometimes I let my human bring it to the house for me. I have 5 dog brother and sisters so my midday naps are a blessing.

3. Where’s your favourite place to relax?

My favorite nap spot is on a dog size sofa that sits in front of the TV in the living room. My favorite bedtime spot is the couch. I am not a big snuggler of humans( I get to warm being close) but they know I love them. I love Momma Jean . We have a thing called the “Mitzi Jo mind meld”. That is when I stare at what I want and think about it really hard and then Momma Jean gets the idea and knows what I want. No words just thoughts.

4. What’s it like being a therapy dog? Do you enjoy it?

I enjoy going to nursing homes and visiting sick people. They miss their dogs and are glad to see me. It’s like going to a doggy massage parlor. If they stop petting before I have had enough I just paw at them gently and they laugh and keep petting me.

5. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever done? (Don’t be shy it’s good to get it out in the open.)

I am a complete angel now but when we first moved here I was around 3 and a worker left the gate open. Momma Jean got all my dog family back right away except for 2 of us. I would let her get about 3 feet away pretending to have a treat and then I would take off into the woods and stop until she caught up again. I finally realized it wasn’t funny when she started crying. I never do THAT again.

6. Tell us about one of your acting jobs.

My favourite job was a job for QVC. That is a television channel we have here that sells items for people to call in and buy. I am helping to sell this cozy chair by sleeping on it. That was a fun easy job.

7. If somebody asked you for advice and you only had a few minutes to give them your best tip, what would it be?

My advice to all is to cooperate with each other. Even if you don’t like them very much you should still be polite and helpful.

8. What is your next project?

I am the storyteller in our children’s books which is about how I help these dogs get along with each other and the neighboring wildlife. We will have book 3 out in April this year.

9. Do you have a website or social media channel where we can follow your future adventures?

My book site is http://www.adoggydaycareday.com my blog is http://www.campjeans.com/blog/ .

My human wants you to know she had Siamese cats when she was a child, (that was a long time ago). Thanks Bailey!, love M.J.

Thank you very much Mitzi Jo it was fascinating to talk to you, you’re obviously very busy but the way you help your furiends and humans is very inspiring.

Happy Caturday Evfurryone!

Bisous, Bailey

Wow you are a very busy cat > I just did the questions and you have them up already. You certainly do keep things running” Ship Shape” (That’s an expression meaning running in perfect order ) I don’t know if other countries use that expression

  6. You are the real deal, MJ. I am also a therapy dog and my mom also writes books – lots of times with me in them. None of her dog books have been published, yet, but I am hopeful. Great interview, Bailey!
