Ticking things off the to do list!

Furiends I’m happy to report that the humans and I are ticking things off our to do list!

We started today by cutting off the rope that was wrapped around our propeller! We picked it up as we maneuvered into our berth the last time we came in. As we arrived it was very windy and our berth was very small since our neighbour’s boat was being blown into our space. We managed to squeeze ourselves in but as we tried to go astern we couldn’t. It wasn’t an immediate problem but of course we needed to get it sorted out.

We actually hoped that it was something around our propeller as the alternative would’ve probably been worse, such as a problem with the gear box. I instructed the humans to send the go pro down and we could clearly see a rope around the propeller which was actually a relief. Today we finally got it cut off so we’re good to go again! It’s such a nice feeling.

Happy at the Helm

Bisous, Bailey

Bailey, you are the most adept seafaring cat we know. Look at how you handle the boat. Amazing! Glad things are all squared away with propeller. XOCK from your brofur and sisfurs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  7. I’m so glad you had you humans take care of this before it could create a problem. About ten years ago, in the Bahamas, a boat (name withheld to protect their egos) got their own anchor rode wrapped around their prop when they powered up to deal with a storm … long story short: the boat got flipped over and sank. Obviously, there was no feline admiral aboard to advise them on what precautions to take.

  8. Dear Bailey, Your paw at the helm always brings good things! Glad your propeller is sorted out. Pat

  9. I’m glad the humans got that rope taken care of!

  10. Smart move – checking out the situation with the GoPro. Whew!

    Love and licks,

  11. It’s good you are there to steer the humans away from trouble

  12. Good idea to use the GoPro to have a sticky beak underwater! Wade always jumps overboard to check things out… any excuse to get into the water!
