An uninvited guest at 5 am.

I love to sleep on top of the wardrobe so that I have a great view out of my favourite porthole. This morning at around 5am I was most alarmed when I opened my eyes to see another green pair of eyes blinking back at me. There was a rude feline face pressed right up to my porthole standing on my boat!

Naturally I wasn’t amused and proceeded to tell it to get off the boat whilst attempting to scratch through the glass. My mum woke up and saw the scene. I’m protecting her this week and I wasn’t going to let this uninvited guest upset her, so I was very insistent that he leave.

I got my mum on the lead to ensure she remained safe whilst I went outside to confront him. I thought initially we could be furiends since I’m easily twice his size and he stood his ground on the pontoon. When I got closer though, he whapped me on the head so I chased the ill-mannered imposter down the pontoon! It was the only way I knew I’d be able to calm down and go back to sleep. Unfortunately mum didn’t think to take a headshot of the offender for reference, since she’s not a morning person!

I’m satisfied that he now knows that this spot is mine for the week which is a relief. I’ve been napping on and off all day due to the rude awakening though! I chose to be in the v-berth to ensure I’m not disturbed again.

Napping

It’s such a funny little place, there’s lots of abandoned ships and boats slowly dying here.

Abandoned ships

Eyesore

This eyesore is at the bottom of the pontoon we’re on. It’s obviously not been loved for a very long time.

Noccy in the abandoned marina

Noccy looks great at the top of the pontoon though!

  3. Noccy always looks beautiful but it is sad to see so many other boats that aren’t “well loved”………so you had a visitor kitty huh? At least you know there are other “seacats” about!

  4. That must have been quite upsetting. I do feel bad for any homeless cats though-maybe you could share some of your food.

  5. Another Seacat came to visit! It was rather early…I’ll bet you still had on your night face…which is rather blank, like ours is. We don’t care for early risers around here as we putter about, trying to wake, most of the morning.

  8. Gosh, Bailey, what a shame about that magnificent spot and all those ghost vessells. Your poor nocturnal visitor was probably abandonned or hoping to find a meal. Purrhaps you should put up a curtain so no one can look in, or else you’re going to have to cook up some fish for your visitors! Stay safe and alert, dear fellow! Pat

Yes you must protect but maybe he was afraid of you. Sometimes a smaller dog will try to act aggressive to a bigger dog just to try to discourage the big dog from a fight. It doesn’t always work.Do you know if he has a home? I hope whoever abandoned the boats didn’t leave their cat behind too.

as you are a pawsome protective cat!
Sad to see those boats. Guess the people don’t have the money to keep them in shape.

Wonderful job Bailey! I”m sure your dad will be very pleased you’re taking such a firm grip of the boat security! It is a shame to see the sad boats there. Why is the marina ill used and abandoned? It looks like it could be a lovely place.
