Due for a dunk!

I had a lovely time yesterday when the Cat Scouts came to Nocturne and we went sailing together! I’d like to say thank you to everyone for including me and being such great learner sailors. Some of the questions the scouts asked me got me thinking…

They asked if I ever fall in the water… Well YES… unfortunately sometimes I do! It’s not a very frequent occurrence but about once a year I seem to forget or stumble and I end up in the drink!

I realised that it’s been about a year and three months since I last fell in. So now I’m a little concerned that I might be due for a dunk! I’m going to have to be extra careful as I’m jumping around the boat over the next few weeks. Hopefully I’ve just grown out of that phase now, I don’t fancy getting wet again even though it’s too hot here!

Wet

Have you ever been swimming or got really wet?

Bisous, Bailey

  2. We thank you so much for all the knowledge you have on riding the waves, Bailey. I seemed to be fixated about bathroom habits yesterday. It would seem so strange to sit in the kitty litter and be moving. We appreciated all your answers to our questions my friend.

  3. oh dear Bailey please be careful not to fall in. that worries me a lot for you.

Yes, I’ve been very wet. I love to swim and that’s great but getting wet either by being rained on when I don’t have the proper gear or the worst time was when I went on a canoe trip with a friend and when he pushed the canoe into the water, he upended it and threw me right into the stream. It was right at the beginning of the trip. I was wet the entire day and I was very unhappy about it.

  5. I’ve only gotten wet once…so far…mol. This weekend was record breaking hot for us here on the Pacific coast and we joined some boat friends and rafted up for the weekend in a local bay. My humans decided to cool off by getting wet. Me, I just retired to the cool dark stateroom and slept until it cooled off. =^,,^=

Hi Bailey, It’s Pete H. We met yesterday aboard “Nocturne”. I just wanted to thank you again for your kind hospitality. All of us Cat Scouts had a wonderful time. Nocturne seems like a very large boat to us, because our boat is A Pocketship built from CLC plans it is only fifteen feet. It will sleep two human adults or a whole bunch of kitties. It has slept one human and four kitties. We have taken it from Jacksonville to Port Canaveral, outside (In the Atlantic) but generally prefer the intracoastal waterway. The Ocean is Big and our Boat is tiny! Purrs to you and your family! Pete and the girls!

  10. Bailey thank you for hosting Cat Scouts yesterday – it was absolutely wonderful being there with you on Nocturne…….As for falling in the water – purrrrlease be careful – after all, if you fall in you wind up having to have a bath and nobody wants that kind of torture – right?

  14. Bengie has gone in twice in 8 years. Being a Bengal she is supposed to like water and swim well, but somebody forgot to tell her that! The first time she went in head first, after checking out swallows at the end of a pier. They were swooping underneath and Bengie over balanced. She was not looking too good – a bit like a kangaroo swimming😳 She managed to grab hold of a beam underneath the jetty and wasn’t letting go, screaming like a baby and eyes as big as saucers!
The second time she got spooked by Wade tapping on the clears to kill a mozzie as she was slinking past. Gave her a fright- she jumped up in the air and missed the edge of the boat – in the drink she went but this time she climbed back up quick smart and gave a huge miaow to Wade in total disgust…. She is a lot more cautious these days!

Mom is trying to get Mau in the pool so he can get his swimming badge at Scouts. Lily Olivia has fallen in the tub a couple of times when Mom’s been taking a bath, but she’s never minded getting wet. Stay on deck and out of the water, brofur. Hope whatever last night’s emergency was wasn’t serious. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

  16. I bet you are much more accustomed to being on the boat, and that your chances of getting dunked are not very big!

I get baths twice a month, and that is the only way I’ve ever gotten wet – and it’s plenty wet enough!
