Festa della Repubblica!

Today is the Festa della Repubblica (Festival of the Republic). It’s a national holiday here in Italy on June 2 each year. It celebrates the day when Italians voted to abolish the monarchy (in 1946) so their country could become a republic.

Lots of humans have got the day off so they can enjoy ceremonies, parades and parties. Lots of the shops, official offices and schools etc. are closed so evfurryone is having a lovely day in the sunshine today.

I’m finding the heat quite tiring so I’ve been asleep most of the day but as the temperature is now starting to cool, I’m coming alive ready for the evening.

I can’t wait until we’re out sailing and on anchor and we’ll get the cool sea breeze even during the day!

Bisous, Bailey
