Happy Shrove Tuesday!

Happy Shove Tuesday or Pancake day furiends! The humans are looking forward to their pancakes later, since I don’t eat pancakes I am looking forward to tuna!

Traditionally, Shrove Tuesday is a time to reflect on ourselves and think about how we can repent for any wrongdoings we may have committed. Nowadays, this usually means humans give up a vice for Lent. My humans have been living the good life over the last few months and they’ve done lots of traveling and socializing. Socializing for humans quite often involves drinking, so both of my humans have decided to give up alcohol for the duration of Lent. Mum is also on a healthy eating kick, so she’s also going to give up sweets and chocolate! She loves those things like I love cat treats! I don’t do anything wrong except bite my humans when they’re naughty, so I’m going to try and stop that (as long as they stop being naughty)!

Bite me!

Are you going to give up anything for Lent?

Bisous, Bailey

  1. Oooooo whee don’t know what whee could bear to give up!!

  6. Dear Bailey, My kitties are in NewOrleans right now, celebrating Mardi Gras with the Cat Scouts. When they get back, we will all give up worrying about the nasty winter. I may give up “comfort” food and beverages which we all indulge in too much when it’s cold!

By the way, your bite is quite impressive!! Soie sage, my buddy!

  7. Alcohol AND sweets?? That’s extreme! Mom doesn’t drink alcohol, but if she can’t eat sweets, somebody is gonna get hurt! She will memorize bible sayings during Lent. That’s a safer sacrifice for all of us. Trust me….

    Love and licks,

  8. I usually give up chocolate or chips, but this year I am giving up negativity.

  9. mmmm. pancakes! maybe i’ll make some for supper. ahh, i hate giving things up for lent, but soda will probably be my choice

  13. kittiesblue says:

What big teeth you have, brofur. Giving up biting is always a good thing. It sounds like Mom Lou is going a bit overboard with what she will be denying herself. Mom can take it or leave it when it comes to alcohol…but chocolate. She’d sooner die. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

I'd love to hear what you think....
