Human error!

Yesterday we went for a beautiful day sail. It was purrfect conditions and we had a great time enjoying our graceful Nocturne in her element.

Noccy in her elementGennaker

We had our gennaker and our mainsail up. (Some of you may remember we were longing for a gennaker but it turned out, what the silly humans thought was a spinnaker that they’d never taken out of the sail bag… was actually a gennaker!)

The humans had done a sail repair on the gennaker before raising it because there was one panel that had a couple of small holes in it. We were admiring how beautiful it was when disaster struck!

Hole!

A small hole (just to the left of one of the repairs) appeared. It very quickly sliced through the whole panel leaving the poor sail angrily flapping around in the wind. The humans couldn’t get it down fast enough to stop it!

Sliced gennaker

So we will need to replace the whole panel before we can use the sail again but we DO have a gennaker! Hooray!

  3. Well Bailey I do think you can forgive the humans for the sail episode – missing a little hole isn’t such a terrible thing after all and you CAN repair it after all! Can’t wait for your pawty to celebrate the USA-book launch. YAY!

It’s always something. I guess at least you have what needs to be repaired. I think I’ll use that on my child.

  1. […] Furiends I have sad news. You may remember back in September we had our gennacker up (after a small sail repair) but it gave way and ripped nearly in two! I wrote about it here. […]
