New ‘Bailey sized’ boat!

Furiends my surprise is so much better than I imagined! The humans bought me my very own ‘Bailey sized’ boat! It’s a Walker Bay sailing dinghy! I’m in love with it already! As you know I adore Nocturne but I have to instruct the humans to do the heavy lifting and pulling. My new little boat is purrfect for me singlehanded. Paw to tiller to sheet in the flick of a whisker! It’s my present from them to say well done for my book and a belated birthday present! I thought the extra treats were great but this is way better!

Bailey's Walker Bay

Pawesome sailing dinghy!

Walker Bay!

We set off from Giglio this morning and motored up to Punto Ala. It took us about four and a half hours. As we were anchoring off the beach the old owner rowed out to Nocturne in my new pride and joy! After a nice cold drink with a broken English/Italian conversation, I instructed the humans to take Giuseppe back to the beach in the dinghy whilst I acquainted myself with my new sailing dinghy.

We’ve been here for a couple of hours to have some lunch and admire my new boat and now, once we’ve got my new boat on the deck, we’re (hopefully) going to sail across to Elba. (Due to the lack of wind today I think we’ll be motoring though.)

Punto Ala

Purrfect

So furiends I need to ask for your help… What should I call my new boat? The possibilities are endless but I’m sure between us we can think of some great ideas and find the purrfect name for her. Maybe something that goes with Nocturne and Nippy (the dinghy) or something else which suits her beautifully.

Happy Caturday evfurryone.

Bisous from your very happy furiend,

Bailey

  1. Oh Bailey how wonderful! Maybe you should name your boat, Bailey’s Dream and then you have Nocturne and Dream!

Wow, brofur, you are such a super lucky cat. That is the coolest boat. We will put our thinking caps on and see if we can come up with a name you might like. Sorry you don’t have much wind, but it sure looks as if you are having beautiful weather. Have a great weekend. 9. Nice little sabot for you Bailey. My mom had one when she was a little girl, only not so modern looking as they are now. Sweet. She thought it would be fun to get one again but we already have 2 power boats and a few dinghys so it’s not in the budget right now. Well since it’s Bailey sized boat, and it’s something you’d have at a piano bar in the evening, I would name it “B52” after the Bailey’s shooter cocktail…mol. =^,,^=

  12. Oh Bailey…what a WONDERFUL surprise for you – your very own boat. You have some great ideas from friends here on what to name her……”Nocturne”, “Nippy”…..now something with an “N”? perhaps for the new boat? How about “Nirvana”…..truly heavenly to have your very own sailboat. Concatulations – maybe we are now “TWO SPOILED CATS” ??

    Love and Hugs, Sammy

  14. Wow Bailey, that little boat is exactly what we are looking for on Take It Easy! Dinghy, sail kit, bumpers so it does not hurt Nocturne. Fantastic… may be you should call it Diurne (the opposite of Nocturne in French).

  17. Hey Bailey, a question for your Mum & Dad – how are you going to carry the new dinghy? Are you going to put it on davits, if so how and where will you attach the hang points to its hull? Just interested to know as we are looking at getting this very dinghy for our catamaran Take It Easy.

  18. Dear Bailey, Concatulations on your new personal dinghy! Might I proposed Natty as a possible name for her? If Nocturne and Nippy are the existing names, you definitely should stick with a 2-syllable “N” name. Natty was a hero in James Fennimore Cooper’s Last of the Mohicans.

I think once all your nominations are in, you should call for a vote!! Of course, now that I think of it, you are heading to Elba……how about Nappy? Short, of course, for that island’s most famous resident!!!

Nappy sailing!! Your paw pal, Pat

  19. Oh Bailey it’s such a wonderful little boat! I’m (not so secretly) very jealous indeed! I’d love to have a Walker Bay dinghy, Amber cat and I could learn to sail together! Will you be keeping both dinghies, or will your new beauty replace the original?
