Like the wind we changed our minds… We got chucked around quite a lot in the swell as we sailed overnight so we decided to take a pit stop on the island of Giglio. We had to tack either side of our straight line because we couldn’t push into the wind. So tired but happy to take the opportunity to see the Costa Concordia one last time (before she’s towed away this week) we arrived in Giglio at about 7.30 AM.
We left from Fumicinio where you see the pin, heading for Elba, and the blue dot on the island is where we are now.
It was nice to get out my travel box and stretch when we arrived. Although the humans leave the lid open for me to hop in out the box, I spent most of the trip snuggled up asleep inside.
If you’re wondering why we have the rug outside… Well my silly humans dropped it in the water just before we left! So it’s been drying outside. I quite like it here though!
We’re spending the day here sleeping, relaxing and swimming (the humans not me!) before pushing on again tomorrow morning. I’ve got the best spot tucked in under the staysail.
The humans have been on the phone to someone apologising for not arriving today and rearranging for tomorrow. I’m intrigued… I have a feeling my surprise is going to be pawesome. Life is great furiends!
Bisous, Bailey
Glad to see you have all those comfy spots staked out on Nocturne. We’re intrigued too…

What a lot of sleeping places you have Bailey. We are following you on google. I gather Gigilo Island is in the region called Tuscany. Now, even us kitties have heard of Tuscanny. You are so cool Bailey. Have a fun day.

What’s that they say?… “the best laid plans [of boats & cats] oft go awry”..mol. Even without a cloud in the sky, the winds can still blow pretty good…don’t want to go through that experience again myself. Hope it stays settled down for you. That’s interesting about the cruise ship. =^,,^=

I thought I’d mention to you that, at least here in America, “pit stop” is a euphemism for visiting the bathroom.

Happy cruising, Bailey! It was fun meeting you in Rome and getting a copy of your book. What a shame we can’t meet up again in Elba but we left this morning and now we’re in Corsica (where the cats all speak French). Make sure you look after your humans well… they are very special people!

Wow Bailey what a beautiful area you have to live around! You are probably so use to it you don’t realize how much the rest of us don’t have this available. They need to change the expression of “Lucky Dog” to Lucky CAT”

Hey Bailey, Bengie said to tell you “tacking is the pits, and it is worse on catamarans because they don’t go to windward too well! At least you are underway now! Enjoy…

The water is so pretty. That’s sort of cool you got to see the Costa Concordia; though, it made Mom sort of sad as two people from our town died on board in the “accident.” Hope you enjoyed your pit stop and have a safe trip when you continue on. Have a great weekend. XO from your brofur and sisfurs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
