Cold shoulder.

Well tomorrow I’m off to cat camp… I have mixed feelings about it.

The humans have been giving me lots of excuses as to why I can’t go on holiday with them this time. I don’t accept them as legitimate reasons though! So I’m giving them the cold shoulder!

They’ve also tried to tell me that it’s OK because I’ll get extra treats and attention and they’ll bring me back a present. (It had better be a really good one!) Tomorrow mum flies from here in Nice via London to get to Rome. (There’s not a direct flight everyday over the winter apparently.) Then the next day both of my humans fly from Rome to Dublin to see my cousins for a couple of days. Then from there they’re flying to Sydney!

My reaction….

Even though I’m not amused, I hope they have a good time. I know I’ll enjoy being spoilt at cat camp because the ladies that run it love me! Next holiday I’d better be included though! I’m not authorising any more extended absences!

  3. Oh dear, Bailey love, you’re making me feel guilty! I’m going away for the weekend – a writer’s retreat – and leaving my two beautiful felines behind. But I have arranged for a lovely kind neighbour to come in and feed them and make sure they’re ok. I hope they’ll forgive me!

  6. I so feel you my friend. One thing that works for me upon their return – guilt. Ignore them no matter how hard they try. They will go beyond in making it up to you – winks snorts. XOXO – Bacon

  7. Is there a webcam in cat camp? You could use it for video chats with Mr. Bowie…

  8. I do believe those “cold shoulders” are sending the right message BUT I’m also sure that your parents know how much you’d love to be spending the holiday on the boat rather than waving them off on a trip!!! Hopefully the present(s) will be worth the absence!

Aw, Bailey, I know you are disappointed. Mom and Dad love you. Just think of all the wonderful things they do for you. You are a fortunate young man to get to sail and enjoy the sun and sea? They deserve a nice holiday. Be happy for them. You will be pampered by the nice people who have been entrusted with your care. You can look forward to your gifts on Mom and Dad’s return.

  18. OH poor Bailey ! How dare do your humans leave you in a kitty camp. Maybe you may need to scratch a few things to let them know of your displeasure.

  20. Right you are to teach your humans some more respect for your needs! But you still can take a page or two from my more seasoned guilt-tripper – when I return home after just one or two nights being absent (and some lovely lady he knows coming in and tending to my cats needs) – he is not giving me a cold shoulder – he looks at me completely hurt from a hiding place, comes up so slightly, makes sure it is really me, waits some more minutes to leave the hiding entirely … a cat with a broken heart, slowly recovering … THAT is a guilt trip.
