Delighted by dolphins!

I tried to upload this yesterday but we didn’t have any internet! We’ve just arrived around the other side of Palmarola and I’m off to laugh at the humans who are about to go for a swim! I’ll tell you all about it this evening if our internet holds out….

Oh my cat! Today we saw dolphins! Not just one, not just two but a WHOLE family. There were six or seven of them! It’s the first time in my life that I’ve seen them. They came and swam right underneath the bow and were playfully jumping to the humans oohs and ahhs! I’ve never seen such graceful creatures.

We got some great photos of them on our SLR camera, but because we don’t have proper Internet here I’m unable to upload them. So in the meantime here’s a couple of snaps we got with the iPhone! What a fantastic start to our holiday. I’m so so happy this evening.

Our passage down will never be forgotten thanks to the dancing dolphins! Unfortunately we didn’t get the sails up because there was NO wind so we motored the whole way down. We left at 10am and arrived here around 7pm. Now we’re happily anchored off the west coast of Palmarola and starting to think about a celebratory dinner to end a great day!

Bisous Bailey

  1. How exciting, Bailey! Love the pictures, and that you and your pawrents are having a fun time. You’ve been waiting for this for so long!

  2. Wowee that’s super exciting. Mummy says a group of dolphins is called a pod. Just like a group of piggies is called a herd. Whee are really enjoying learning new stuff! Do you know what type of dolphins they are?

    Nibbles, Nutty, Buddy & Basil

  3. Wow! You lucky things 😉 Look forward to more of the dolphins.

  4. Oh Bailey how wonderful that you all got to see those incredible dolphins! I bet they enjoyed seeing YOU as much as you enjoyed seeing THEM! What a treat though to be able to enjoy them together with your parents on this magical holiday voyage. Thanks for sharing the photos – it’s ALMOST like being there with you!!

Do you get to eat alot of fresh fish when you are at sea, Bailey?

  6. What an exciting start to your journey.

  7. Mitzi poses a good question: do the humans fish while you’re out cruising? Have a great time and hope you get to see more neat things like dolphins!

  8. Breathtaking – amazing – you lucky sausage!! 🙂

  9. Oh Bailey I am so happy for you. What a wonderful way to start your holidays!

  10. Wow, that is the coolest thing. We wish we could have been there to see the dolphins and so do our humans. Enjoy every single minute of your time on Nocturne. As usual, you are looking catabulous! Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

  11. How awesome that you had dolphins as company, Bailey! You so look like you are totally in your element.

  12. COOL 🙂

  13. Amazing and special! Your humans should take Nocturne on a big trip one day to the Gulf Coast of Florida….Sanibel and Captiva Island area…amazing dolphin viewing!

  14. I was in a small boat once, bucking through some fairly heavy waves and getting scared. Suddenly all around us were dolphins. I’ll never forget it. The fear just disappeared.

  15. That’s incredible!

  16. How great!!!
