Last night mum and I cleaned out the new turtle tank for the first time! It was great fun!
Before, we didn’t have the proper set up, and so we were cleaning the small tank nearly every other day. But this nice new one has a filter, heater and other turtle mod cons and it lasted nearly two weeks!
We’ve got some tubing and a stopper to siphon the dirty water out of the tank, I’d never seen this before and I thought it was really funny!
I loved watching the water fall into the bucket. When mum went to empty it I checked on my ninjas.
As I looked at them up close, I realised mini Milo wasn’t quite so mini anymore! He’s got really tubby, really quickly. A week and a half on his new, super ninja, all round turtle pellets and he has exploded in his shell! I know he loves them, because he begs for them at the side of the tank. We were advised to let them eat as much as they could in 5 minutes once a day, but I’m afraid Milo is going to have to go on a little diet because he’s fat! His little stripy bum is hanging out of his shell! Hehe!
So I had a little chat with him and told him not to worry, but he needs to exercise more and his food is going to be cut down. Michael-Angelo is fine and being very supportive by doing extra laps of the tank to help motivate Milo beat the turtle tubs!
Bisous Bailey

Love it Bailey!
Bailey, you are one lucky kitty to have these new housemates to observe. We do think Milo has a cute little bum. And remember, don’t drink the turtle water. Yetch! Hey, and good job balancing on the edge of the tank without falling in. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette
You are such a good helper for Mom!
There probably isn’t another kitty in the world that has his own pet turtles!
What a great set up you have now for the nInjas! Shame about the diet but that means the food is gooood
Thanks for likes and comments on my blog. I do tweet tweet on yours!
Looks like you’re doing a great job looking after them Bailey!
Good for you Bailey – giving Mr. Tubby (heehee) a bit of a lecture on being more active in the tank and less of a piggy so he can become a lean mean turtle machine instead of his BIG OLD SELF. His turtle bum is quite cute though! It’s a grand thing that you and your Mom can share the turtle tank cleaning duty. YAY!
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
I had no idea turtles could be fat! Is there diet turtle chow?
Cute turtle bum!
Aww that’s so sweet of you Bailey to look out for the ninjas. I know the little one probably did not want to hear the words diet, but turtle obesity is serious. Poor little one. I wish him good luck on the diet. =^..^=
Your little tubby turtle reminds me of the one I played with when I was a kid. Now, Bailey, you might want to read my article about it on this link:http://marygilmartin.wordpress.com/2012/08/26/characters-in-stories-the-loggerhead-turtle/
